Pearl Harbor Veteran
Bill Wenger in 2006 photo depicting his return to Pearl Harbor for the 65th anniversary observance of Japan's Dec 7, 1941 surprise attack. Bill Wenger was a 17 year-old seaman second class aboard the USS Hull when the attack was launched. He was 86 when he died at his Niles, Michigan home. |
Bill's son writes:
Dad was laid to rest with full military honors with a CPO and two Seamen tasked from the Great Lakes Naval station. The VFW provided the 21 gun salute and Taps.
