DE RYCKERE, ARCHIE GEORGE LCDR Archie George De Ryckere was born in Laurel, MT. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1940, fought and survived the attack on Pearl Harbor and survived Typhoon Cobra in 1944. After a long military career, Archie worked for Rohr Industries and the City of El Cajon. In 1984, he and his wife, Jackie, owned a hardware store in Pacific Beach. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, his children, Dale and Robin De Ryckere, Rhonda De Ryckere, Michael De Ryckere and Joan and Duncan Depew, his grandchildren, Lindsey, David, Alec and Kirsten and his great-grandchild, Andrew. Archie lived a full life; he always had the best stories, told many jokes, and left a lasting impression on most that he met. To know him was a privilege; to love him was an honor. Archie died Monday, July 2, 2012, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family. He has joined his son, George, in eternal happiness. Services will be held on July 26th at the church of The Immaculata on the USD  campus. Rosary at 11 a.m. Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial at 2:30 p.m. At Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
